I am honored to share my recent experience presenting a groundbreaking blockchain paper at the IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Internet of Things (AIBThings) on September 17, 2023. The paper titled "Blockchain-based Information-sharing and Transparent Security for Vehicle Asset Fintech Management (BITSAFE)" delves into the dynamic world of FinTech and the critical need for efficient information sharing in government services. In this blog post, I will provide an overview of our presentation and the innovative solutions we proposed to address the challenges of secure information exchange in decentralized government agencies and among external stakeholders.
The Challenge
One of the key issues we tackled in our paper was the intricate web of processes involved in vehicle licensing and loan procurement. It's a complex ecosystem with multiple stakeholders, including dealerships, customers, banks, insurance agencies, maintenance agencies/garages, and government bodies such as the Licensing Division and the Police Service. These stakeholders require access to real-time data about a vehicle, often necessitating immediate notifications when specific events occur.
For instance, banks need to know when a customer pays off a vehicle loan or when the insurance on a car expires. Similarly, insurance agencies and financial institutions must be alerted if a vehicle is reported as lost or stolen. The traditional approach to managing these processes involves a labyrinth of communication channels, resulting in inefficiencies and potential security vulnerabilities.
